On the NE of Patagonia region lays the city of San Carlos de Bariloche at the feet of the Andes mountains. The Lower Manso flows from Steffen lake and it is about 70 km away from Bariloche. This river beginning at the foot of mount Tronador (3545 MT, tallest mountain in the area) flowing from the Manso and Castaño Overo glaciers. Its water flows through lakes:Mascardi, Los Moscos, Hess and Steffen, which divide the river in 3 sections: Superior, Medium and Lower.
